As I sit at my computer, or point my camera in a given direction, I use my hands to translate the shadowy images in my brain to their physical representations on a page to thereby allow my readers to see what I have seen and feel what I have felt.
Whatever I have done with my life may seem insignificant. But it has been a journey to be recounted and exchanged. As a Vietnam Veteran who has also been homeless, I have lived out my life on a thin line, pulled only by the string of God. Foley’s story found in the Veteran’s Corner may be fragmented, and he may not be taken serious. On the other hand, as one reviewer recently wrote, “Your story and your strength are inspiring.” Please go to www.allenfrancisfoley.com, happiness (one would hope) is more than a minute long.
“It’s the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It’s the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It’s the Soldier, not the politicians that ensures our right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. It’s the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.”
As a Medically Retired United States Marine, I have a dream. My dream is to save the lives and restore the hope and dignity of America’s Homeless Veteran’s. All gave some – Some gave all – which is the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. Samuel Adams said: “It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brush-fires of freedom in the minds of men.”
Please consider buying something from the website: http://www.allenfrancisfoley.com for yourself, family, or friends. Or consider making a small donation befitting to those who have served our country and have asked for nothing and gave everything, and yet find themselves in dire need. All proceeds go to programs to directly benefit homeless veterans.
Thank you for your continued and tireless support,
Allen Francis Foley
